How to use it

  1. 1. Find the factor matching your activity and its scope (Scope 1 fuels and gases, Scope 2 electricity).
  2. 2. Multiply your activity (kWh, litres, kg) by the factor to get kg CO2e.
  3. 3. In a GHG Protocol inventory, report grid electricity and transmission losses separately.
  4. 4. Use one GWP set (AR6 or AR5) consistently across your report.
